Faith | Anytime God is going to take you to a new level! #LiveJakes

Anytime God is going to take you to a new level, there will be excuses that you have to first get rid of.

Before you get promoted, you have to get rid of that excuse, “I’m not qualified, I don’t have the talent. I can’t do it.”

Before you break the addiction, get rid of the excuse, “I’ve had it too long, I’m not that disciplined.”

Before you see vindication, get rid of the excuse, “They hurt me too badly, I could never be happy.”

Before you meet the person of your dreams, get rid of the excuse, “It’s been too long, I’m not that attractive, I don’t have a good personality.”

God wants to do a new thing in your life. He wants to bring you into a new level of your destiny. Are you letting excuses hold you back?

2017: What a year that was!

“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.”

(Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God)

For me, 2016 was the year that asked questions and 2017 was the one that answered.

I was 25 years old and still immature in 2016 when I had to deal with my first heartbreak. Left with nothing but questions, I kept chasing for a closure and looked stupid. I had to learn people come and go the hard way.

But 2017 was redemption

The past year, I believe, is appointed by God to teach me about acceptance. It is the first thing to letting go, moving on, and growing up. It’s either you accept you aren’t the one in control or choose to struggle pointlessly.

And I’ll admit it was difficult, being the girl used to getting what she wants. So I took each blow of my 2016 issues one by one, let myself hurt intensely until I become solid. I looked at pain eye to eye til it no longer dissipates my spirit.

2017 made a woman out of the girl I was.

2017 taught me I am as strong as I want to be.

2017 not only made me smarter, but instilled wisdom in me.

2017 reminded I am a diamond some people can’t afford.

And most importantly, 2017 made me excited for 2018 – certain it can only get better.

No regrets, just love.

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”  (Rev 21:5, NKJV)

Birthday Blues: 25 Things You Learn By 25

Featured_Blog 1

I’m turning 26 in three weeks.

Just like that. I’m no longer a high school teeny bopper, a kolehiya striving to be a Cum Laude, and too old to hop in to another job just because I’m bored.

Birthday blues, as they say. I always get through it every November.

But, before I get carried away and start to list down my 25 years worth of hanash, why don’t I just enumerate all my learning in the past years?

Let’s discuss 25 in taglish, randomly:

1) To feel like an adult is a choice. Pwede pala yung 25 ka na pero feeling mo, 18 years old ka pa rin.
2) Ang hirap mag-ipon. Especially if you’re an advocate of self-love.
3) Lahat ng gastos mo, feeling mo necessity kahit hindi naman.
4) Ang daming magandang lugar sa Pilipinas. So far, the best ang El Nido for me.
5) Hindi kailangang mahalin ang trabaho. Pero dapat galingan mag-trabaho. So, choose that job where you want to be magaling.

6) At this age, nobody would understand you better than your (true) friends. Same hanash-es kayo eh.
7) You don’t need to be super rich, as long as you can buy the things you need (and want) at hindi problema ang pera.
8) Be maalaga of yourself. Magpaganda ka, invest in your looks, health, and mind kasi it will give you the biggest ROI.
9) Not everything that bothers you deserve a reaction. Be a big person and master the art of ignoring the nega.
10) If you’re a 25-year old single woman, you don’t need a man to be happy. Wag padala sa mga asaran.

11) Mas kawawa yung in a relationship pero losyang. Hindi makapag-travel at shopping.
12) Saka hindi porket wala kang boyfriend pangit ka. In the same way, hindi lahat ng may boyfriend maganda. Utang na loob.
13) Ang dami kong hugot dito ‘di ba? Kaya dapat hindi puro syotaan ang nasa isip. Pweh.
14) Ang sarap mag-two piece sa beach. Nakaka-liberate, charot.
15) Worth it mag-invest sa quality beauty products and accessories. For your confidence. Confidence is the key to success.

16) Your first relationship may not work, and it’s okay. Hindi katapusan ng mundo. Ibangon mo sarili mo.
17) As time goes, you can’t tell if naka-move on ka na. But, the fact that you find yourself more excited for the future than reminiscing is a good sign.
18) It would feel like you need a lifetime to forgive and forget. Be at peace with that. Pero the truth is, hindi naman lifetime, OA yun.
19) Ang sarap maging single. Yes, there are downsides, pero magpakatotoo tayo, mas maraming benefits. He he.
20) Wag susuko sa work. Pambayad yun ng cards para swipe swipe na ulit next time.

21) No matter how much you like them, never chase people. Don’t sell yourself too much. If they don’t seem to realize how awesome you are, let them let you go.
22) Do everything you need to do to reach that level of security wherein other peoples’ opinion don’t affect you anymore.
23) Invest on treasury bonds and investment plans. Lakas maka-feeling responsible adult.
24) Love your family. Express your love for them, especially for your parents.
25) God is all you need to survive. To survive life and yourself (honoring God > all your hanash).

No Regrets, No Questions: Absolute 2015

images (3)

Nine hours to savor 2015 – to meditate on the things and relationships we lost, blessings gained, and lessons learned. I am saying goodbye to this year with thankfulness and appreciation of how God has taught me absolute surrender.

I’ve learned how to let go of not just a person, a hurt, but of everything about yesterday and all the days before it. I now live one day at a time – in the present – without even the slightest anxiety about the future. Because I know He’s got it all figured out, He wants me to prosper, and that everything will work out for my good as I abide in Him.

The good experiences and memories made me grateful. The bad, stronger and dependent on God. It’s all about the positive transformations that happened in me – ridding of the wrong attitudes and building of my faith while waiting. In the end, it all made sense. That’s absolute victory in His name!

So it doesn’t matter how the situation looks like right now, or if it seems 2015 is not ending happily for you. God is faithful and He always answers prayers. The delivery of his promises are sometimes delayed due to divine reasons and timing. He also says ‘no’, for He gives what you need, not what you want. You know that already, right? That’s how you trust God – with absolute zero doubt.

On another note, He may have also kept you hanging (positively), waiting and hoping like me. Did He grant some of your requests in the last months of this year? Are there people He placed in your life whose roles you haven’t fully discovered yet? Nothing to worry about if you’ve prayed about this new thing or person and handed it over to God prior to getting attached and committed. Embrace and enjoy absolute excitement!

As C.S. Lewis puts it, “Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done.”

Let’s enjoy the gift of a clean slate. Happy New Year to us all!

Happy Ending, After All

Have you put in a great effort, only to receive no reward? This is your season of recompense in Jesus Name. The Bible tells us in Heb. 11:6b that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Your labour has not been in vain, He will reward you in full this month in Jesus Name.

The Bible says in Isa. 35:4 “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.” Are you facing a fearful situation? God will save you from that trouble in Jesus Name. Perhaps you have been falsely accused or you have been rejected wrongly? This month God will make amends for your loss, He will compensate you in Jesus Name.

The Bible says in Heb. 13:8 that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has the ability to go into your past, your foundation and recompense you for everything that you have lost over the years. This promise of recompense is not for today only or even this month only-God will go into your yesterdays and repay you in full. Joel 2:25 says “And I will restore to you the YEARS that the locust hath eaten.”

Recompense also refers to punishment for an action. The Bible says in Deut. 32:35 “To me belongeth vengeance and recompense.” Brethren, it is not our place to take vengeance on our enemies. Remember that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood (Eph. 6:12) and our weapons of warfare are not carnal (2 Cor. 10:4) . Be rest assured that God will punish your enemies. Even in this season, God will paralyse all who oppress you in Jesus Name. He will send confusion to every evil gathering against you in Jesus Name.

Thank You Father for the word. I’ll hold onto this promise as I walk towards the unknown.
